Remodeling your bathroom is an excellent way to add value to your home and improve its functionality. You should always hire a seasoned professional with the proper credentials, licenses, and insurance for the job.
Ask potential contractors about their insurance coverage and if they have a workman’s comp policy. This will protect you from unexpected expenses during the project like mold abatement or additional plumbing work. Click To Visit Website for more details.
The bathroom is a room that requires a lot of attention. It needs to withstand high temperatures and humidity changes and be easy to clean while looking good. This makes it a good place to invest in high-quality materials that will stand up to repeated use.
Choosing new materials and fixtures can add a great deal to the look and feel of your bathroom. But don’t forget that the functionality of the room is just as important. Take the time to consider your needs and figure out what changes would make it more functional for you.
A remodel is a good opportunity to rethink the layout of your bathroom. This could mean moving things like the sink, toilet or bathtub. It could also include a change to the footprint of the room, such as bumping out a wall or removing one entirely.
Many San Diego and Temecula homeowners choose to change the floor plan of their bathrooms for practical reasons. For example, if you have a large roman tub that is rarely used, you might decide to turn it into a shower. This could also be an opportunity to add a toilet to reduce the stress on one bathroom in a larger home or to convert a half bath to a full bath to accommodate aging family members.
The type of layout change you choose will depend on your goals for the space and how much you’re willing to spend on the project. Some of the larger remodeling projects involve gutting the entire bathroom and starting from scratch. If you are doing this, it’s a good idea to work with a contractor that is licensed and insured to avoid potential problems with the plumbing, electrical wiring and more.
If you’re working with a limited budget, it’s important to focus on the essentials first. For example, you may not have the money to add a luxury soaking tub or a double vanity, but you can improve the overall look and feel of your bathroom by adding a fresh coat of paint or installing new window treatments.
Creating enough storage for your bathroom items is a vital part of remodeling. Clutter can hide the beauty of your renovation, but smart storage options will make sure all your supplies are easily accessible.
Medicine cabinets can be obtrusive in small bathrooms, so consider wall niches or recessed shelves for your storage needs. These can hold smaller bottles and even serve as displays for knick-knacks like aromatic potpourri or a decorative soap dispenser. If you’re planning to include built-in cabinetry as part of your bathroom remodel, consider adding lighted mirrors and power outlets to create a more streamlined look.
If you’re doing a major bathroom renovation, you’ll need to hire licensed professionals to handle the project. A contractor can manage the construction, demolition, and plumbing changes you need for a new layout. They can also assist with electrical updates, and they’ll install any new lighting you want in the space.
You may also need a permit from your local building department to complete the work. If your remodel involves any major changes to the structure of the home or if you’re moving plumbing lines, this step is essential to avoid fines and other issues.
When tackling any remodeling project, it’s a good idea to have an electrician and a plumber on standby in case something goes wrong during the work. The bathroom is a tight space with a lot of water and electricity, so you don’t want to be left without access to these necessities.
A small, easy-to-install solution for storing hair tools and products is to add a handy, over-the-door basket. It will keep everything in one place so you don’t have to rifle through drawers every time you need a blow dryer or curling iron. Similarly, optimize the space under your sink by installing a pullout storage caddy that holds hair tools and supplies. These are available in a wide variety of sizes, and you can find a model that matches your bathroom décor as well.
The plumbing aspect of a bathroom remodel is one of the most expensive. But it doesn’t have to be. There are basic, serviceable fixtures that are a good deal cheaper than designer fixtures. Talk to your plumber before the job starts to see what’s within budget and what’s not.
Another factor to consider is whether the existing pipes need replacing. In older homes, especially those that haven’t had any remodeling work done, the pipes may be nearing the end of their useful lives. Depending on how long they have been in place, this could mean replacing both the water supply pipes and drain lines.
If that’s the case, you’ll want to choose a material dupe that will keep the cost down. For example, you might use copper for the drain line but opt for a PEX flexible tubing for the water supply. This is less expensive than using copper throughout the whole remodel and makes for a cleaner appearance. Plus, SharkBite push-to-connect fittings can help make the switch over to PEX quick and easy for you or your customers.
As for the rest of the installation, it’s important to check shipping periods and order all the materials ahead of time to avoid delays. It’s also smart to line up a contractor early on and clear your schedule for the duration of the project. This way, the work can take place when you’re available and any delays won’t interfere with your other projects.
It’s also a great idea to make sure your crew is familiar with local building codes. For example, in many states, if your home was built before 1979, you’ll need to bring the plumbing and electrical up to today’s standards. That means making sure each bathroom is on its own dedicated circuit with a GFCI protected outlet and that there are proper venting systems in place. These upgrades will save you money on utility bills in the long run and protect your family’s health and safety.
Many homeowners take their bathroom lighting for granted. But a well-thought-out lighting design can elevate a bathroom beyond its basic functionality. In fact, it can transform a dark room into one that feels bright and airy.
Whether your bathroom is in need of a full renovation or just a few stylish updates, it’s important to carefully plan the light fixtures you want to install. This includes ensuring that you have sufficient overhead lighting for task areas such as showers and vanities, as well as ambient light in alcoves and niches. You’ll also need to decide how much recessed lighting you wish to have installed.
As you consider the various lighting options, be sure to pay close attention to the fixtures’ finish. Matching the finishes to the tile and other fixtures will create a seamless look. For example, a bathroom with all white fixtures might benefit from brass accents in the chandelier or sconces to add a touch of contrast.
Another important aspect of planning the lighting is to ensure that your fixture specifications are compatible with the voltage and type of bulbs you’ll be using. Electricity and water can be lethal companions, and it’s crucial to consult a certified electrician before tackling even the most simple installation.
Finally, be sure to include a dimmer switch in your remodel plans. These are not only convenient, but they can also enhance the ambiance of your bathroom with pre-programmed settings. Look for a model that supports low-voltage, incandescent, fluorescent, or LED sources.
Water heater installation requires working with gas and electricity, both of which present safety risks. While this is a doable project for many homeowners, most call in a professional to ensure the job is done correctly. For professional assistance, you can call Plumbers In Cleveland OH.
First, disconnect the old water pipes using pipe wrenches and remove the access plates. Water lines may be flexible or connected with compression or union fittings. Some require sweat-soldering with a torch to make a connection.
1. Determine your needs.
Getting your new water heater up and running is a big job. Unless you’re an experienced plumber, this is a project best left to professionals. A licensed plumber can help you choose the right heater for your home and ensure it will meet all code requirements.
The first step is to determine your needs. You need to know how many fixtures in your house use hot water and their gallons per minute (GPM) flow rates. This information will help you decide what size tank or tankless unit is a good fit for your home.
Start by turning off the power at the circuit breaker and draining the old water heater. Next, remove the access plate covering the wire connections at the top of the tank and disconnect the electrical wires. Reinstall the access plates and reconnect the electrical wiring to the terminals of the new water heater, following its manufacturer’s guidelines. You may need to mount a metal electrical box if the existing wires don’t reach the new water heater.
You also need to replace or install a temperature and pressure relief valve. Make sure you buy a new valve rated the same as your heater and that it has a large opening to attach a copper tube. You’ll need a tubing cutter, pipe adapters, and a soldering iron to get the job done.
Finally, you’ll need to install a vent line from the new heater to your home’s piping. This is usually a double-chambered vent pipe that allows exhaust gas to escape while fresh air is drawn in. Building codes may require you to change from a simple atmospheric vent to a powered direct vent system, which requires a more complex installation.
2. Plan Your Route
A water heater is heavy, and the installation process requires careful planning to avoid back injuries. A professional technician can help you choose the right spot for your new tank, ensuring that it is in a safe and accessible location. They can also perform preventative maintenance on the unit, which is essential to keeping it working properly and efficiently.
For tank-style units, the most important factor in proper installation is locating them in an area that will allow for adequate ventilation. These tanks emit carbon monoxide, a colorless, odorless gas that can be deadly if insufficient ventilation is present. For this reason, it is necessary to install the unit in a space that will provide at least two feet of clearance around it and at least four feet of clearance overhead.
It is recommended that the water heater be installed in a garage, laundry room, basement, or other indoor area. A water heater can also be installed outdoors, but it must be in a secure “closet” to prevent weather and other elements from damaging it.
Ensure that the gas and water line shutoff valves are closed. Attach a garden hose to the drain valve and drain the water from the tank. Be sure to use extreme caution, as the water will be scalding hot. Once the tank is drained, disconnect the gas line at the nearby utility and remove the old water heater.
Check the data plate on the water heater to ensure that the home’s voltage, wiring size, and circuit breaker are correct for this unit. Turn the electrical power off at the circuit breaker to reduce the risk of fire or electric shock.
Ensure that the water heater location has at least 6 inches of clearance on all sides for ventilation. It should also be located away from combustible materials, such as wood framing and gas piping. Check the local code for minimum clearance requirements. If possible, locate the water heater at a lower floor level for easier access and maintenance.
Check your home’s water pipe connections and the water heater’s inlet and outlet ports for compatibility. Installation kits often include flexible stainless steel connectors that can be cut to the required length and connected without soldering. Some also have built-in dielectric unions that protect against leaks. Copper or PEX piping is best, but many kits can be used with other types of pipes.
Determine your household’s peak hour demand (the number of gallons used during one single, 1-hour period in the day for showers, washing machines, dishwashers, etc.). If you are considering a tankless or on-demand water heater, refer to the manufacturer’s website to estimate this. For example, if your family typically takes two showers in the morning and runs a load of laundry, you may need a water heater with a first-hour rating equal to or higher than 66 gallons.
Install a temperature and pressure relief valve per the manufacturer’s instructions. This protects the house from water pressure building up inside the water heater. This is especially important if your water heater has a gas burner. In addition, a gas water heater requires a venting system to release excess flue gases outside the house to prevent carbon monoxide poisoning. Unless your local code requires otherwise, it is recommended that you use a system known as “direct venting,” in which a special double-chambered vent pipe carries the exhaust gases out the side of the house.
4. Choose the Right Water Heater
Water heaters seem like simple enough appliances. After all, most of us have seen them—big metal cylinders stuffed with a wooly insulating blanket in the garage or utility room. But they’re actually quite ingenious on the inside, exploiting the natural law of hot water rising to heat your faucets.
Choosing the right water heater for your home depends on more than just size and fuel type. The upfront cost, heating method, and maintenance complexity all play a role in determining your best choice.
Tank water heaters use gas, electricity, or oil to heat water stored within a built-in tank. This can be any size, from 40 to 60 gallons (151 to 227 liters) or more, depending on your household needs. They’re easy to install in most homes, with a simple gas line and venting system for exhaust. They also take up less space than most other types of water heaters and can be located in areas with low or high temperatures.
The most important factor in determining the efficiency of your new water heater is its first-hour rating (FHR). This gives a good estimate of how much hot water the unit can deliver during peak demand, such as a morning shower or washing machine cycle. Plumbers calculate the FHR by multiplying your family’s peak-hour demand by a factor of two or more.
If your water heater is electric, make sure it’s plugged into an appropriately sized breaker panel. Larger units require a dedicated breaker or subpanel, which can add a few hundred dollars to the installation costs and may need to be upgraded with thicker wire. In addition, most gas-powered units will require a carbon monoxide alarm and proper venting, which your smelly plumber can handle.
In the case of gas heaters, you must also install the new vent pipe and make any necessary plumbing connections. This can be a complicated job and is best left to the professionals. If you’re changing from an atmospheric vent to a powered direct vent, the project becomes even more complex. Consult your local plumbing codes before attempting it yourself.
If the new water heater is to be installed in a different room, make sure that it can be easily accessed for maintenance. It is important that the hot and cold water pipes will be able to reach it and that you can easily access the panel on the tank for any repairs or replacement of parts. A room that can be insulated to keep the temperature of the water constant is ideal.
Start by shutting off the electricity to the water heater using a circuit breaker or fuse box. Then drain the old water heater by opening the pressure relief valve located at the top of the tank and then disconnecting the nipples from the bottom of the tank (using a pipe wrench).
Remove any insulation covering the access plate on the heater, and pull back the cover on the thermostat to expose the thermocouple screw. Once you’ve found this, turn the screw clockwise to raise the thermocouple and open the valve at the bottom of the tank to drain the tank.
Remove the junction box cover and connect the circuit wires to the water heater, following the label tags or a picture you took of the wiring connections in Step 3. Replace the junction box cover. Reconnect the nipples to the water heater, making sure that you don’t accidentally connect the hot and cold lines together. Then attach a new temperature and pressure relief valve to the water heater, wrapping the threads of the new valve with Teflon tape and screwing it on tightly. Finally, connect a copper discharge pipe from the new valve to the tank.
Consider hiring a custom bathroom design if you’re considering a new bathroom remodel. Interior Designers Utah will ensure that the project stays within your budget and meets all your design needs. A designer will also help save you time by communicating with contractors and ensuring everything goes according to plan.
If you’re planning a bathroom design, think of the style of the rest of your house. This will help your Custom Bathroom Designer create a plan that suits you and your lifestyle. For instance, consider a more contemporary color palette if you have a modern house with clean lines and geometric shapes. This will keep the space open and bright and make it more spacious.
Using contrast in your bathroom is key to creating a statement space. In this primary luxury bath designed by Hecker Guthrie, they used edgy matte black finish and luxe marble floors to make an eye-catching statement bathtub stand out. To balance the look of this sculptural stone tub, interior designer Kendall Wilkinson added a wall of mirrors with decorative frames over each sink and built-in sconces to add ambient lighting. Desiree Burns Interiors also created a shallow ledge and built-in nooks on the lefthand wall to add more storage and space for decor.
A good bathroom designer will ask the right questions to discover your personal needs and design priorities. They’ll also be well versed in modern bathroom products and design solutions to bring your ideas to life. The best bathroom designers will be able to make your ideas a reality while staying within your budget and keeping you on track during the remodeling process. Generally speaking, they’ll charge a design retainer or flat fee. Be sure to read the fine print before signing any contract.
Most designers will also be able to show you a bathroom that will wow your guests with a display of the finest materials, finishes and fixtures. One way to get this done is to have the design specialist match your specifications with a portfolio of options that includes high-end manufacturers and contractors. This will save you time and headaches down the road and ensure that the products you select are the best fit for your space and your lifestyle.
Bathrooms can be complicated to plan, so remodeling projects often require professional design and construction services. Depending on the scope of the project, you may want to hire an architect or an interior designer, who can help you design and build your bathroom from start to finish. A custom bathroom redesign is a good choice for homeowners who want a unique space that’s designed to meet their specific needs. It’s also a good option for older adults who want to stay in their homes longer and need features that support aging in place.
Regardless of your budget, it’s important to have a clear vision for what you want in your new bathroom. You should share this with your Custom Bathroom Designer, who can use it to create a design concept that will work within your price range. Bathrooms are usually one of the smallest rooms in a home, so you want to make efficient use of your space. A custom bathroom will allow you to do this while maximizing storage and functionality.
The timeline of a bathroom remodel varies widely, depending on the scope and quality of the work. It’s impossible to predict exactly how long it will take, especially if there are delays on the client side or in the contractor’s schedule. It’s best to start the planning process early on so that a bathroom’s aesthetic, function and function supports aging in place are all considered. It’s also important to have a design that makes good use of space.
A bathroom can be designed in many different styles, with options ranging from simple to elaborate. A designer who is skilled in customizing a bathroom can help you select furniture and fixtures that fit your style and budget, as well as tiles and lighting. A bathroom remodel often starts with a consultation meeting, in which the designer asks questions to find out what you like and don’t like about your current space. Then he or she works to create a design concept that fits your vision.
There are some basic steps involved in Bath Installation. First, you must know how to set up the drain. There are two types of bases for bathtubs, one that is dedicated to a particular model and the other that is universal. Installation of both types of bases is similar. During the installation process, the bathtub must be leveled and the legs of the tub must be secured to the wall using 2-inch galvanized screws. You should put your foot on the tub’s edge to hold it steady while screwing it to the wall.
Another step is to determine the dimensions of the room. Standard bathtubs measure approximately 5 feet by 30 inches and hold about 50 gallons of water. Luxury tubs, however, may require special installation arrangements. If the tub is larger than the opening of a doorway, it may require the removal of a window or hoisting it through an opening. Furthermore, if you have stairs, built-in enclosures might be a problem. In such cases, a multi-piece surround may be best.
Before starting the installation process, remove the old tub. You will need a pry bar and a piece of caulk to cut it loose. Make sure to hire a helper to help you. One person will lift the front edge of the tub while another will slide 1 x 4 boards underneath and act as skids. Then, you can remove the stringer (the cross-piece that supports the tub’s edge).
If you are not comfortable with installing a new tub, you can call a professional. A plumber has experience in doing this work and will have the proper tools and knowledge to do the job correctly. The plumber will also be able to properly hook up the new fixtures. There are also several basic steps to Bath Installation. Depending on the installation process, you may need to cut a hole in an adjacent wall or go through the floor to access the drain pipes.
Shower installations are another trend. Many home improvement shows feature shower installation as the most popular bathroom upgrade. Many tiny homes have already opted to replace their tubs with showers, as the occupants of these houses are most likely single people and couples who do not have children. If you are considering replacing your bathtub or installing a shower, hire a professional company. They will also help you acquire any necessary permits.
If you are preparing to sell your home, you should have your bath installed. Without a bathtub, it will be difficult to sell your home. Some families will not consider purchasing your home, while others will opt for a bathtub over a shower. The bathtub can also be replaced with a beautiful surround that is easy to clean and seals tightly to the bathtub unit. Soaking in warm water in the tub will relieve any stress or aching muscles, so it’s worth the cost to replace it.
When choosing a professional, you should make sure that the person is experienced in installing bathtubs. Bath installation is a time-consuming process, which is why you should hire someone to do the job. It is important to be prepared for unexpected problems, such as leaks and water damage. The price of the installation can increase depending on the type of bathtub. In addition to the type of bathtub you decide to install, you should make sure that your plumbing is in good condition.
The type of bathing installation you choose will depend on the size of the room you are re-doing. For example, an under-mount installation installs the bathtub beneath the deck material. Most under-mount bathtubs are also compatible with the drop-in installation. If you’re aiming to install a freestanding bathtub, you’ll want to choose an under-mount installation. It is important to keep in mind that a freestanding bathtub is usually the most expensive option.
Next, you’ll need to decide on what material you’d like for your new bathtub. Acrylic and fiberglass tubs are both lightweight and durable, but fiberglass is not the best choice for a bathroom. Acrylic tubs are inexpensive and lightweight but are prone to scratches and color changes. Despite the higher price, acrylic tubs are slightly stronger than fiberglass. So, if you want to save some money, you’d better choose acrylic tubs.

It’s safe to say this past year was filled with the unexpected—like staying nimble as we adjusted to new and ongoing issues in shipping and construction logistics. It’s also been filled with good. As the construction industry regained momentum, so too has the modular sector. Not only did we see five projects that feature our products open to the public, but we also opened our own new facility, SurePods West, to better meet demand. Because the construction industry is continuing to see the benefits of modular building, we expect to be just as, if not more, active in 2022. But before we toast to the new year, we want to reflect on a few 2021 highlights.
look-back at key projects
We were fortunate to support the opening of several building projects this past year. Our prefabricated bathroom pods helped contractors facing site challenges shave two months off the schedule for the JW Marriott in Charlotte, North Carolina. By collaborating on the Prism Apartments in the pre-construction phase, our design team made it easier for Consigli Construction to implement lean construction methods and stay on budget and on schedule. And not to be left out, one of the most unique projects to feature our products is Legoland Hotel in Goshen, New York.
Legos introduce so many people to the concept of modular building, so we were delighted to provide this hotel with modular bathroom pods. Plus, our prefabricated bathroom pods allowed the designers to have a consistent, high-quality bathroom that could be modified to fit the different room themes throughout the hotel.
Benefits of modular construction in the news
In addition to the fun projects we’ve been a part of, we’ve also enjoyed seeing the benefits of modular construction in the news. One article in commARCH explains how our bathroom pods helped Consigli Construction sideline challenges they faced in the Boston/Cambridge area, like complicated transportation logistics and a tight skilled trade labor market. If this sounds familiar, it’s because it is. These issues have plagued the construction industry across the country in the past couple years.
By consolidating up to 12 trades and eliminating the need for a punch list, our bathroom pods not only saved contractors from the headaches of coordinating different trades but also time throughout the building process. In fact, according to Dave Curry, Consigli Construction’s preconstruction director, our prefabricated bathrooms helped Consigli “accomplish what would traditionally require 100 hours of labor per bathroom in 10 minutes.”
Going behind the scenes
As developers increasingly turn to modular building to solve construction issues, we’ve seen more interest in our prefabrication process. Recently, the Construction Brothers stopped by SurePods to film a video about how our bathrooms are built and shipped to jobsites across the country.
This video highlights how our factory-controlled environments help ensure a quality product from start to finish and a safe work setting for our team. The video also explains how the process eliminates wastes to increase productivity. For a more in-depth discussion about prefabrication, the Construction Brothers interviewed Bill Seery, Vice President at SurePods, on their podcast.
Ending the year and beginning the next
These were just a few of the highlights from 2021. We are both grateful for what’s been accomplished and excited for what lies ahead (including more projects in healthcare and residential facilities). We could not have done any of this without our dedicated SurePods team and our innovative customers, so we’d like to end by saying thank you to everyone for helping make 2021 a year of growth and a year of change.

A statement basin is the way to go if you want an on-trend bathroom renovation in 2022. A bathroom basin, along with its tapware, accessories, and vanity, can add a stylish touch to your bathroom by creating a focal point.
But as bathroom basins are available in various designs, colours, and finishes. From organic to square, wall-mounted basins, inset, under-mount, semi-recessed basins, freestanding basins and much much more, choosing your bathroom sink is an overwhelming decision!
Selecting a bathroom basin appropriate for your household’s lifestyles and room layout is critical to successfully completing your bathroom renovations. So, let’s look at six bathroom basins that we have become increasingly dominant in 2021 modern bathroom designs, meaning they are likely to stay on trend for 2022 bathroom renovations!
A vessel basin stands entirely on top of your countertop, and as the name implies, is essentially a giant bowl, so it’s a perfect choice if you want a deep basin that can store a lot of water.
Unlike most countertop basins, which display a portion of the basin, vessel basins command attention and are an excellent way to make a statement in your modern bathroom design.
Although vessel basins still have their negatives, because of the basin height, careful planning of the bench height and the cabinets are required to ensure that the basin does not end up being too high and uncomfortable for users.
Although this is no worry for Novalé clients – from bathroom renovations Alexandria to bathroom renovations Newcastle – our skilled bathroom designers can ensure custom placement for all bathroom aspects tailored to the specific heights of household members!
Circular Countertop Basins
Although vessel basins make a stunning statement in a modern bathroom design, this mount has a few negatives. However, if you are set on the curvy and round trend, a surface mount basin could be for you as this basin shape offers a plethora of options and benefits!
Circular countertop basins are lovely for showcasing exquisite design features because the entire basin is exposed, making them ideal statement pieces. Countertop basins also provide more options for tap placement to ensure a more comfortable height for homeowners than conventional basins since they sit on top of the counter. Plus, in the case of bigger bowl sizes, they give a far better wash area.
A round above-counter basin exudes modern opulence with a simple and elegant appearance, creating a forceful yet subtle design statement. Like the basin in this bathroom renovation Redfern, soft curves give a spa-like atmosphere to a space when paired with a minimalist style and neutral tones.
With roots in mid-century retro, the coloured sinks from the ’70s are coming back in trend! 2022 is the year that coloured and bold accents make a comeback, adding some visual appeal to modern bathroom designs. However, your bathroom basin does not have to be super bright, just like in this Yattalunga, Central Coast bathroom renovation, which complements the warmer tones of the timber vanity with a warm bowl basin, taking neutral minimalism to all new heights.
To Match the Bright Sinks, Tapware and Accessories will Also Trend in Unconventional Colours
Forget about chrome as your only option; there are now so many stylish colours and finishes to choose from! Chrome has long been the most popular option for bathroom faucets and other accessories, but designers now favour warm metals like copper, bronze, brass, and nickel for taps and accessories.
Warm metal tones work well in practically every bathroom colour scheme. There are so many different designs that you can discover items that will fit with anything from an industrial bathroom to a timeless, vintage, or ultra-modern bathroom renovation.
It’s time to transform your drab faucet ware into a work of art! Tapware, in any case, is no longer in the background; they’re here to make a statement in modern bathroom designs, just like the gold embellishments in this Kurrajong Heights, Central Coast bathroom renovation.
Most Importantly, Environmentally Conscious Sinks Will Trend
Maybe due to recent international events or just because people are waking up to the necessity of caring for the earth; nevertheless, sustainability is a principle that drives modern bathroom design. Water-saving appliances may take various forms, from installing water-saving taps, toilets, and showers to using sustainable, up-cycled, and recycled bathroom furnishings.
Particularly in trendy areas of Sydney, we have seen the sustainability trend, such as recycled flooring and upcycled basins, be extremely popular such as Redfern bathroom renovations and bathroom renovation Alexandria.
Floating sinks are becoming increasingly popular as they improve the usefulness and aesthetics of small bathrooms (particularly powder rooms) in 2022. Clearing the area beneath a sink increases the airiness of a small bathroom renovation and makes the space appear larger.
Floating sinks improve the attractiveness of your bathroom, whether they are constructed of wood, marble, or any other material. Just like the floating vanity in this Redfern bathroom renovation which gives the space a contemporary touch while keeping a pristine area with little to no clutter.

As predicted last year, the global market for modular construction has been on an upward trajectory. Experts forecast that growth will continue through 2028, a trend which makes sense considering current market conditions. Modular construction not only makes it possible to expedite the process of designing and assembling building systems, but it also offers unique solutions to labor shortages and supply chain issues that are predicted to linger.
Because bathrooms are a repeated element throughout a building, we’ve seen firsthand how designers and contractors are turning to prefabricated, modular bathroom pods for the above benefits and to stay on track in a time when predictability seems near impossible. While the advantages of modular construction drive its increasing popularity, they also imply future construction trends.
Below are some developments we’re anticipating for 2022 and how modular construction methods can meet the moment and benefit workers, contractors and clients in the process.
More developers will turn to alternative methods to combat shipping challenges
Ideally, just-in-time shipping streamlines construction, but, as we have seen the past few years, supply chain issues can disrupt this approach. Stalled shipments can create congested jobsites and compound delays, all of which affect the bottom-line. For example, if a material is delivered late, its arrival might coincide with another material’s. Crews would then have to scramble to move materials to accommodate the late shipment. Delays further impact construction by altering when skilled trades, like plumbers and electricians, can do their work.
To combat ongoing shipping challenges, more developers and contractors will turn to alternative construction methods to keep materials and projects moving. Modular bathrooms, for example, can be built offsite as the building area is being prepared, which accelerates a job’s timeline. Then, when the site is ready, these pods can be delivered and installed at just the right moment. Secondly, because parallel construction makes it possible to secure materials prior to weathering in, alternative methods can help simplify logistics and provide more control over volatile market conditions.
Labor shortages will continue
Contractors across the nation are having difficulty finding skilled workers. With more people retiring from construction and fewer people entering the industry, it will remain key to look for ways to replenish the workforce. We at SurePods know that building a better future starts with people. Because prefabrication offers consistency, predictability and safety, it is the perfect entry point for those new to the trade.
Sustainability will remain a focus
Sustainability is increasingly becoming an industry standard. Modular construction is an attractive solution as the process is typically more material and waste conscious than conventional methods. For instance, prefabricated modular bathrooms use recycled steel and wallboard and comply with strict quality standards from production through installation. These standards mean a long-lasting product with fewer repairs and replacements over its lifetime.
Further, the use of automated processes translates to more precise products and fewer mistakes, resulting in less material and energy waste due to rebuilds.
Even with the above constraints, more developers will specify custom builds
Advances in modular construction have given designers more freedom to customize their projects while still enjoying all the benefits of prefabricated construction, debunking the myth that repeatable units means cookie cutter designs. Because our current technology allows us to prefabricate better than ever, we can accommodate more design flexibility, solving site specific issues upfront. This includes creating tailor made, enterprise-wide solutions that can be used for multiple projects.
Modular presents tomorrow’s solutions today
These are just a few of the things we see driving the construction industry in 2022. Whether the need is for a leaner design or a method for mitigating material and labor shortages, modular bathroom pods are an easy first step into prefabricated construction.
